Biker Shorts- Yay or Nay?

Biker shorts- honestly it's a trend I never thought I'd be able to get on board with! I struggled to find a pair that were the right length, had a pocket for my phone (can't live without this when I'm working out), were priced right etc. That is until now!

I love that you can style biker shorts so many different ways. Oversized t-shirts, a black tank and jean jacket, a pullover and not to mention they are so comfortable! I think that has been what everyone is striving for right now during quarantine, right!?

I'd love to hear from you in the comments, are biker shorts a trend you've been loving too?

Kids Outdoor Summer Activities!

School is officially out for the summer here in Georgia and we are SO ready to put virtual school behind us (we'll see what happens in the fall) and focus on having fun in the sun! Since we've gotten pretty used to staying home in the last few months I decided to get the boys a few summer toys to keep things exciting around here and I think it's working! Here are some of our tried and true summer toys that I know your kids will love too!

1. BUBBLES! Everyone from John Riley to our puppy, Tucker loves bubbles! We got this $10 bubble machine and it's awesome! The bubbles go for the longest time and come on, have you ever seen a cuter rainbow narwhal?!

2. CHALK! Both of my boys love to draw... they love anything art related actually! I found this adorable ice cream chalk and it adds an element of summer fun to our daily doodling! Chalk is so great because we make roads for cars, obstacles for bikes and scooters, hop scotch and so much more with it. You can almost always find regular chalk in the dollar section of Target especially during these summer months!

3. WATER BALLOONS! I mean... do I really even need to say more?! Water balloon fights are a summer must! This fun set has water balloons that are rapid-filling, so you can fill 100 balloons in 60 seconds! They're also self tying which is so great! Be sure to fill them in the grass or a bucket... they'll pop on concrete! We learned that one the hard way... oops!

4. WATER SLIDE! If you've been following along on my Instagram account then you know one of our first and MOST used quarantine/summer purchases was this water slide! I know it's a splurge but the boys have used it every sunny day we've had for the past two months! Target has so many great water play options like this cute sprinkler and this awesome soaker pool. There's something for everyone's price point and trust me, in the summer heat a water toy is a must have!

5. TOWELS! I love a good pool towel in the summer! We lay them out in the grass for the boys (and Tucker) to chill on while they're playing, have picnic lunches on them and of course dry off when all of the fun is done. These yellow cabana striped towels are so soft and the color just screams summer! They come in a few other colors and are on sale for under $5 right now so I picked up the orange ones as well!

6. TOTES & PAPER GOODS! This plastic tote is so perfect for taking to the beach or park but it's also the best to store all of the boys outdoor toys in! When we're done playing I can throw the bubbles, bubble machine, chalk and balls into this tote and store it in our mudroom until we use it again! I also love stopping at the Target Dollar Spot to pick up festive paper cups to put snacks in. They're just so much more fun than a plastic bag and unless they get wet or sticky, you can reuse them a few times.

Well there you have it! A list of our FAVORITE summer toys! I hope you all have the best summer with your families. Stay healthy and have fun!

Leopard Wrap Dress

Happy Labor Day! What better way to start the week than with a day off of work and this ADORABLE leopard print wrap dress by Gianni Bini?!

You guys this dress is soooo good! There are a million ways to style it. You could do a classic black heel and pearls, a bootie like I did, a cute flat with a denim jacket or a studded boot and leather jacket for a more edgy look.

The fabric is super high quality and because it's a true wrap dress you can really accentuate your waist which is so flattering!

Right now, Dillard's is having an awesome Clearance Event. With brands like Gianni Bini, Free People, Steve Madden and so many more I think you babes will have a blast shopping today!

Fall Faves from Lizard Thicket Boutique

Happy weekend, babes! If you've been following along for a while then you know nothing makes me happier than the first signs of fall! I don't know if it's the crisp air, the cozy clothes, the warm colors or pumpkin everything but I love it all!

I'm so excited to be sharing this sweet little number from Lizard Thicket Boutique with you! If you're local to Peachtree City then I'm sure you love it just as much as I do and if you're not don't worry, you can shop it online!

I feel like you can't go wrong with a good babydoll dress. It's flattering on every figure and this ginger color screams fall! You can pair it with sandals on these hot afternoons and throw your hair in a messy pony, wear it with booties and a cute hat like I did for these cooler mornings or add a scarf, cozy cardigan and boots when it really gets chilly! You can shop this entire look through the links at the bottom of this post.

I hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Let me know in the comments what your fun plans are, I'd love to hear!

Valentine's Baskets For The Boys

Happy almost love day! I'm seriously so obsessed with Valentine's Day... especially now as a mama! I just think it's so sweet to have a dedicated day to get to love on my boys even more than I normally do!

I've actually had their Valentine's Day baskets done and hidden up in a closet for about a month now but life has been WILD in the best of ways lately so I'm just now getting to share them with you!

Luckily, everything in these baskets are from Target & I'm sure if you haven't gotten something yet, this will all still be there!

I don't go too overboard on Valentine's Day but I do love to put together a basket for each little guy and watch as they wake up to sweet nothings on Valentine's Day morning! Rather than filling it up with candy (although I do have some of that), I like to get things that the boys really are into right now. So for John Riley he got a small Lego set, a Pete The Cat Valentine's Day book, a fun little stuffed animal, wall jellies (anybody else's kids obsessed with those things??) and organic gummies!

Bennett got pretty much the same but with a Biscuit the Dog book (his favorite), Matchbox cars & organic lollipops!

What do y'all do for your little ones on Valentine's Day? I hope you all have a day full of love, laughs & the cutest little baskets for your babes!

Currently...

Happy New Year y'all! It has been such a whirlwind month ( 6 weeks really) since my last post! I was super intentional about unplugging while John Riley was home from school & throughout the holidays. I'm so glad I took that time to spend with family & friends but now I'm excited to get back into our routine!

I thought I'd start a new monthly series called "Currently" on here to share a few faves & current obsessions! Let me know in the comments if you like this type of post!

Here we go!

CURRENTLY...

Going... to Pensacola Beach, FL in a few weeks for my soon to be sister in law's bridal shower! I went to college for 3 years in Pensacola and haven't been back in so long. We are staying on the beach with my mom which is making me even more excited for this quick weekend getaway!

Reading... The Postnatal Depletion Cure by Dr. Oscar Serrallach. Really exciting stuff, huh!? Seriously though, this book has been so interesting to me! I would highly recommend getting this on audio though because there are a lot of technical terms and words that I would not know how to pronounce otherwise and the author does a great job at explaining it all. Basically, you're not losing your mind mamas. You're probably just depleted... but don't worry, it can be fixed!

Loving... Crunchi makeup! Oh my gosh y'all. So a little back story... when I lived in Palm Beach there was a new brand of makeup, Crunchi and my girlfriend and I went to a cute little launch party, got some makeup and enjoyed the free food and wine. I didn't think much of it but the brand is really taking off and after using their products I can totally see why! It's toxin free which I'm being more conscious of as of lately but it's also honestly one of THE best foundations I've ever used!

Eating... with intention. Sounds pretty obvious but I've been doing a lot of research on what foods are truly the best for our bodies. I just ordered The Bulletproof Diet by Dave Asprey and think that is the route I'm going to venture down. I will definitely keep you all posted on that!

Drinking... water, water, water! I don't know about you but I forget to drink water all the time! I've been carrying my water bottle around with me all day and it's amazing what a difference it makes when you're truly hydrated!

Watching... John & I started watching Game of Thrones from the beginning again. We started watching it when it first came out while I was pregnant with John Riley, six years ago! It's honestly really crazy to watch back now, knowing what will become of everyone! I can't WAIT for Season 8!

Working... on being my best self! Tis the season right?! I'm working on my health in all aspects right now. I recently started going to an awesome chiropractor and have been learning so much. If you're local to the Peachtree City, Newnan or Sharpsburg area I cannot recommend 100% Chiropractic enough! I've also been doing a lot of personal development to stay in a good head space & I am aiming for 5 workouts a week! It just feels good to DO good by your body, ya know??

Listening... Nothing in particular. If you have any good Spotify playlists send them my way!

Buying... Uhhh well, the government is shut down right now which means John is not getting a paycheck. SCARY! So, I'm trying to flip this into a positive & catapult into Dave Ramsey since John & I have been talking about implementing his strategies for a while now! It's definitely forcing me to look at all that we DO have instead of constantly wanting more!

Planning... ALL. THE. THINGS. Nothing immediately but this summer is a big one for us! John is turning 30 & we are celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary so I'm planning a fun party & want to get away for a few days without the kiddos!

Wondering... if we should put Bennett in preschool in the fall! My gut is telling me he will be ready for a few days a week but my heart is crying that we're already at this stage with him! Where did my baby go!?

Feeling... really freaking excited for everything going on in our lives and coming up soon! I feel like the dust has settled from the crazy year we just had and now we can finally breathe! I am loving this Blog platform/outlet and appreciate all of you so much for reading!

A Holiday Look For Every Occasion

Oh my gosh y'all I seriously can NOT believe it's practically December! This is my absolute favorite month of the entire year but without fail, by the time December 1st rolls around our schedules are already slammed until the new year with events! Between holiday parties with friends, neighborhood potlucks, work parties, school shows and family get together's it can be a little overwhelming to try to figure out what to wear to all of that!

This little look is so easy to dress up or down and can work for just about any holiday event! We took our family Christmas card pictures this week and it worked great for that too! This dress is super comfortable and can be dressed up with a chunky necklace and heels or can be even more casual with a jean jacket, blanket scarf and white converse sneakers! The options are endless!

It's our first holiday season in Georgia, in our new house and we are excited to start new traditions here. My heart is happy knowing that we'll be able to spend a week in Florida too! I want to hear what your family holiday traditions are! I'm going to share some of my favorites from you all on my Instagram in the next few days so leave them in the comments below for me to share!

Happy (almost) December, y'all!
